The Waste Electrical & Electronic
Equipment (WEEE) Directive

The WEEE legislation is concerned with involving producers in the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment that is placed into the market. As a responsible supplier of electronic equipment, Avantis Education Ltd encourage customers to return their waste equipment free of charge for processing and recycling once it has reached the end of its useful life.

WEEE should not be disposed of via conventional landfill collections, as some components can have a harmful effect on natural habitats and wildlife, as well as to human health. A large portion of the electrical items that are often throw away can be still be repaired or recycled. Recycling goods which have reached the end of their useful life helps to reduce the health and environmental concerns associated with sending electrical items to landfill.

As a registered lower tier waste carrier, broker and dealer under the UK WEEE Regulations, Avantis Education Ltd comply with the necessary obligations. Our WEEE Producer Registration Number is WEE/MM0064AA

We actively aim to prevent as much of the goods which are placed on the market as possible from going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Our recycling and disposal service is offered free of charge. Our customers must simply return their WEEE item to us once the devices have reached the end of their useful life. Their useful life can be defined by the customer, and we encourage consumers to contact our support department to discuss any issues that may be experienced, or consider alternative ways in which the devices can be put to use, to ensure they remain useful.

Failing this, all devices and equipment can be returned to the below address. As a customer looking to recycle or dispose of your equipment, please follow the below steps:

1. Please email support@avantiseducation.com to create a new support ticket, detailing the type and quantity of devices you are looking to return.
(Please make sure that you have WEEE Enquiry as your email subject)

2. Once all reuse options have been explored, our support team will issue you with a unique ticket / WEEE return number.

3. The devices can then be returned at your cost, or alternatively we offer a collection service charged at £20 (inc VAT) – this service must be requested during the correspondence with our support team, at which point we will organise for this collection to be made from any UK address.

4. Once the devices have been safely returned to us, all personal information and data will be permanently erased from the equipment, before the components within the hardware itself are recycled as far as is possible.

Alternatively, there is a network of recycling centres across the UK where consumers and end users of WEEE can also take WEEE free of charge to be discarded, reused and / or recycled. The complete list of locations can be found at: www.recyclenow.com
